The Dark Side of Social Media's Early Adoption A new study published in Nature has found a link between early social media use by pre teens and lower grades years later.
Researchers from the University of Milano Bicocca surveyed over 5,000 Italian teenagers and discovered that students who opened social media accounts between ages 11 12 scored worse than their peers in standardized math and Italian exams four years later.
The study's findings are consistent with warnings from experts about the dangers of social media.
